New Adobe Illustrator video series how to make illustrator symbol libraries

Hi all! It has been a while. I just want to let you all know I’m in the middle of publishing an Adobe Illustrator Symbols tutorial series on YouTube. The first is up and running (check it out below or on my channel). I’m currently working on the second, and depending on how involved it is, it may be split into a third video.

Why more videos?

Some of you might know this, but I work at a company that makes mapmaking software. I’m the lead product engineer for a product that connects GIS software to Adobe Illustrator. By far, the most common questions I get are actually not about the mapping software that I get to help make. The vast majority of questions are from people who want to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator. I have been an Adobe user (Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Dimension, After Effects, etc.) for a very (very very) long time — with Adobe Illustrator in the lead. Adobe Illustrator (and the rest of Creative Cloud apps) is powerful, but also daunting. It’s a challenge to tackle everyone’s questions about Illustrator individually, so I’ve decided to put an effort into making more videos that can (hopefully) help a lot more people.

How you can support this effort

If you enjoy any of my YouTube tutorials, or just like the idea of supporting a creator doing something on the side for free, please head over to my channel and like a video or two — maybe even subscribe! Asking this of you feels awkward, but that stuff helps me justify making more tutorials.

Thank you!
